I stumbled upon Verbena while exploring the Memorial/Energy Corridor area and was pleasantly surprised. This hidden gem offers some of the best espresso-based drinks at reasonable prices. While the shop is small and can get busy, it's a great place to get some work done if you manage to snag a table. They roast their own beans under the Hayward Coffee Roasters label, and I'm a big fan of their Climber espresso, which is used in their drinks. The baristas are always friendly and helpful. Overall, Verbena is a fantastic coffee shop and my new go-to spot.

My friend recommended this cute and cozy cafe. With the colorful Verbena flowers in mind, we went to give it a try. It was almost full when we arrived at around 10:30am on a Sunday morning. My friend ordered matcha latte and I ordered French Press. She liked the latte. I have never tried French Press, and understand from the staff that it's a black coffee with stronger flavor. I decided to try it out of curiosity. It's relatively good, and it's served in a jug that's enough to be shared by two people. But I guess I would prefer more creamy coffee, so next time I will probably stick to cappuccino. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the cafe is well lighted with natural light. I would recommend it to those who want to gather with a friend for a chat, or just some quiet time alone over a coffee. It's conveniently located near energy corridor, with a lot of parking space. The price is reasonable.

Mocha frappe with two shots of espresso and mocha added is what my wife enjoyed, it was very tasty. When i go the a new place i usually enjoy a hot cappuccino wit' two splendas. I bought a bag of their whole beans. I've ground some and enjoyed a few cups of their inhouse roastery, Hywood Coffee Roasters, the beans are a medium light roast called Early Riser....me likey.

Cutest little coffee shop with really great coffee! Yummy smells hit you when you walk in the door! Americana coffee best I've tasted in a while! Pastries were phenomenal, soft and tasty! A delightful place to visit and spend an hour or two! You won't be disappointed!

This coffee shop serves the best coffee and danishes (heated, ofcourse). I had a Carmel Cafe Macchiato & my wife had a vanilla latte. Coffee had no bitterness and was fresh & I really enjoyed it. Worth a stop if you find yourself in the area. The seating can get crowded fast but there's seating outside too.

My husband and I are coffee people, and we typically go to the closest coffee chain near our house. After stopping in at Verbena, we are lifetime fans! My husband likes his coffee strong enough to keep him going all day, and I like mine strong but sweet. I showed the barista our orders at the other place, and they made drinks to match our tastes perfectly! We also tried a pastry, and it was AMAZING. The staff is so nice, I could tell many people who were there were regulars. The owners are so nice and present at the shop. I can tell they pour into their staff, and I like to spend my money at places where I know the staff is taken care of! Highly recommend Verbena!
